Artist Comments

The pilot is the device on the front of a steam locomotive that deflects objects from the tracks that might otherwise derail the train.

"I love the way a steam engine works, how its moving parts chug and hiss with forward or reverse propulsion. Gazing at "Steamer Changing Tracks," I can just about hear those sounds. All aboard!" -Jeanne

"There's something about geometric shapes and bold color that just resonates with me. I believe it is in part due to the energy and motion, and the shallow depth that forces us to be face to face with the subject. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this fun painting!" -Jeanne
